DX Cluster Information

In general, many prefer to use the VE7CC DX Cluster.  It is available through the world wide web and also through a client software program that you can install and run on your PC.  More information is available at http://www.ve7cc.net/

N7AZ DX Cluster Node

Another option is to utilize CADXA's DX Cluster, N7AZ.net.  It is accessed using a telnet utility by opening a session to n7az.net.  If your telnet software asks for a port number, give it "23".

If you're not familiar with how to use telnet, it is fairly easy to do and is available on any Windows PC.  Here's how to connect:

1. Click the "Start" button at the bottom left corner of your computer screen, then click on "Run".  You'll get a "Run" dialog box popped up - where it says "Open", type "telnet" (without the quotes).

2. At the prompt, type "o n7az.net" and then press the enter key.   This instructs "telnet" to open a connection to n7az.net.  To be become familiar with telnet commands, type "?" at the prompt and press the enter key.

3. Enter your callsign, then press the "enter" key.

4. After entering your callsign, you'll get a screen which will continue to feed you the latest DX spots until you close your session. If it's your first time entering the n7az.net DX cluster, then you'll be asked to confirm your name and QTH (answer the questions by typing "y" for "yes" and pressing the enter key).

The DX Cluster commands are available by typing a question mark and then pressing enter.
